This site does something different. Every article here is built around a specific argument — a position we are prepared to defend and, if the evidence demands it, revise. We do not summarize. We do not aggregate. We analyze, we argue, and we take responsibility for our conclusions.
Who writes here
My name is Menti Shparthi. I have spent over a decade watching European football with the kind of obsessive attention that makes for poor company at dinner and, occasionally, useful editorial output. My focus is tactical structure, player development, and the systemic forces that shape how the modern game is played at the highest level.
I write from a position of genuine conviction. When I argue that a managerial decision is wrong, I explain precisely why, using the mechanics of the game rather than the comfort of popular consensus. When the data contradicts my instinct, I say so. The goal is analysis that a serious football reader finds genuinely useful — not content designed to rank, to please, or to avoid controversy.
What we cover
Asport.al focuses on tactical analysis, long-form player assessments, and structural debates about the direction of the sport. We cover the Premier League, Serie A, La Liga, and the Bundesliga in depth. We pay particular attention to Albanian players competing across European leagues — a subject that receives serious analytical coverage almost nowhere else in English.
We do not publish transfer rumors. We do not produce match reports within twenty minutes of the final whistle. We publish when we have something worth saying.

Every statistical claim on this site is sourced. Every opinion is signed. If we get something wrong — a figure misread, a tactical interpretation that subsequent evidence disproves — we correct it and note the correction clearly. We are not interested in being right after the fact. We are interested in being rigorous before publication.
Asport.al is based in Albania and operated independently. We carry no external editorial obligations and answer to no commercial partners in our coverage decisions.
